My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, Coon Rapids PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page. Meet Sweetie: Your Future Feline Friend! Age: 8 months Breed: Brown Tabby Personality: Affectionate, Playful, Gentle Sweetie is a charming little rescue cat with a heart of gold! Found as a stray, this playful brown tabby has quickly settled into her new indoor life, where she thrives on affection and cuddles. Despite her young age, Sweetie embodies a delightful mix of kitten energy and calmness, making her the perfect companion for anyone seeking a furry friend. Sweetie has a knack for turning any moment into a playful adventure, whether it's chasing her favorite toys or indulging in tasty cat treats. She's a quiet lady who enjoys lounging in sunny spots and observing the world around her. While she's adaptable and has been friendly with everyone she meets, a gradual introduction to other pets is recommended to ensure a smooth transition. Though her experience with dogs and kids is still a mystery, Sweetie's loving nature suggests she'd likely enjoy their company, too. If you're looking for a sweet, gentle spirit to brighten your home, Sweetie is ready to steal your heart! Come meet her and discover the joy she can bring to your life! Sweetie is from a stray surrender. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
