My Story

Name: Thomas Age: About 6 months Breed: Tabby Reason for being at shelter: Trapped stray Description: Quick, run and hide, people are coming. I can't let them see me or find me. What if they touch me? What is they want to pet me? What if they want to befriend me? Oh, what do I do? What do I do? We can only imagine these might be the thoughts inside Thomas's head because he is a very shy and skittish kitty. He does run and hide rather than engage with people. He's not comfortable with human contact like he is with other kitties. But given time, patience, and a lot more socialization work, Thomas can get there. He just doesn't know it yet. Needless to say, Thomas would not do well in an active home. But he would do well being adopted into an existing cat household. And he would benefit from more intense socialization work. Thomas needs a human to understand and to help him change. OPHS is appointment only. All potential adopters must fill out an adoption application prior to setting up an appointment to meet the animal. An application can be found on our website using this link https://www.ophumanesociety.org/cat-adoption-application. Please allow 3-5 business days for us to process your application. We are screening the applications for the first BEST fit for each animal. If you are approved, you will be contacted by us via phone or email to schedule an appointment.
