My Story
This is Thumbelina (Torbie) and Cornelius (White & Gray) BFF’s, up for adoption together! Thumbelina is a polydactyl, which means she has extra toes on all her feet- that’s why we named her Thumbelina! To keep in theme with her name, we named her BFF Cornelius, after Prince Cornelius from the animation “Thumbelina!” If you’re a fan of the 1994 film Thumbelina, then I know you’re swooning over their names!
Our sweet girl Thumbelina (who we have nicknamed “Thumbie”) came to Pet Angel as the first kitten of the season earlier this year as just a tiny thing, after she was thrown from a car. She had road rash on her face when we first got her, but that’s a thing of the past now! Today, Thumbelina is our most outgoing cat in the whole rescue! She loves people so much, she is always talking to everyone! She begs you to come give her attention and purrs the whole time you’re with her! She looooves to run on her cat wheel, play with catnip toys, and loves to wrestle with Cornelius! She likes to drink from her cat water fountain, and is very treat motivated! I think her future owner could teach her to do tricks using cat treats one day! For this duo, Thumbelina is the leader and Cornelius follows her lead!
Cornelius (who we affectionately nicknamed “Cornie”) was transferred to Pet Angel from Bay County Animal Control. All of his littermates had been adopted at BCAC, and he was not doing well being a single kitten. He was suddenly becoming very reclous as a singleton, so he came to join Thumbelina as her partner! Cornelius LOVED Thumbelina from the moment he met her! He LEPT out of his cage, wrapped his paws around her neck, and instantly started wrestling her! Cornelius likes to follow Thumbelina around, and always follows her lead! She has really helped him come out of his shell, and show him the world isn’t so scary! Cornelius loves to lay in fluffy beds, adores hidey holes, and once he gets to know you, loves to get his belly rubbed! He is such a sweet heart!
Thumbelina and Cornelius are fixed, microchipped, up to date on all their shots, and are both negative for FIV/FELV. They are looking for a strictly indoor-only home, together! They would get along with other cats, or children! Although they haven’t been tested with dogs, we think with the proper introduction and time (which we would coach you thorugh,) they would learn to get along with a dog!
