Trixie was originally in a non-kill animal control facility, in a small town in our surrounding area. She’d been at that facility for 6 months before we were contacted about pulling her. She’s around 7-8 months old. She’d grown out of her kitten phase and grew into a teenager while there. She watched as all of her siblings found a home. She’d spent 6 months growing up without a family, hoping that the next people that walked in for a kitten younger than her or prettier than her would decide to take her home. That family never came. It’s understandable that Trixie is a little adverse to humans at first. No one had ever picked her, until now. When we took in Trixie, she was very skittish in the facility. She was hesitant to new people, but I could see there was an amazing cat hiding in the shyness. So we brought her here to our rescue. She’s been getting used to our facility for a week or two now and from the cat I first met to now, she’s already made some amazing progress. She loves belly rubs and pets. She loves pretending like she’s not obsessed with pets until she can’t stand it anymore and flops onto her side for better pets.
If Trixie was a human, she’d be a goth girl who likes pretending that she doesn’t have any feelings. The reality is, she feels too much. In my head, she’s a teenager that blast some emo rock music and slams the door a little too harshly, screaming “it’s not just a phase mom, it’s a lifestyle.” Her hair as a human is bright pink to me, a stark contrast to her all black clothes with too many metal accessories and one too many piercings to be considered a normal amount. But anyways, I’m getting off-track. The point is, Trixie is just misunderstood and she’s looking for a best friend who truly understands her and makes her feel a little less alone in this world. Trixie needs, well, she needs you. Whoever you may be.
Trixie is spayed, dewormed, microchipped, vaccinated, and on a monthly flea prevention. Her adoption fee is $150. If you’re interested in learning more about her, you can call or text, 314-494-4792.
