My Story

Tsunami is doing great! She is healthy, growing fast, and has no issues using the litter box. Tsunami LOVES to play and LOVES treats. She will happily be at your side if you have a string or Churu stick in your hand. She doesn't like to be petted yet (a quick hiss and retreat). She is brave and spends the day lounging in the middle of the room instead of hiding. If you don't try to pet her, she will stay close by, share a couch with you, and peer over your shoulder to see what you're doing--very curious! She and Earthquake spend their day playing and snuggling with one another. We enjoy her (she's so playful, curious, and fun to spoil with treats) and optimistically think that with enough time, she'll warm up to people she trusts enough to allow pets. She would be a good pet for people with cat experience and patience. Please remember that they are kittens and kitten behavior comes with the package. They need lots of toys and places to scratch to learn good scratching habits. They also need patience as they finesse their litter box skills in a new home they are unfamiliar with. This pet is available for adoption at the Ellensburg Humane Society. If you are interested in adopting this pet please fill out an adoption questionnaire at www.yakimahumane.org. A Yakima Humane Society staff member will contact you once your questionnaire has been processed. Adopters are welcome to visit the adoption center Monday-Saturday. A Picture says 1000 words...right? While an animal's picture draws interest, the reality is that as a potential adopter most people would like as much information as possible about a pet. The Yakima Humane Society is an open admission shelter. What does this mean? Over 90% of the pets at the adoption center arrive as strays, no history of behavior or medical care is known. Adding a pet to your family is a big responsibility. Please research carefully and remember that adoption is life saving. Before you go searching for free kittens or kittens for sale, check your local Shelters for available cats and kittens that have been vetted and are ready to go home. Adopt Don't Shop
