My Story

Meet sweet orange boy Tycho! Though he can be a bit shy at first, he's a sucker for a good chin and neck scratch. A little patience and he'll be your best bud in no time. Tycho came from a large colony of outdoor cats, so he may enjoy a home with another chill cat to keep him company. Something unique about Tycho is that he has FIV (Feline Immunodeficiency Virus). Many cats with FIV live long and happy lives! This virus affects the immune system, so Tycho's adopters need to be diligent about medical issues and veterinary care. It is not contagious to people or non-cat animals. It is recommended that Tycho be the only cat in the home or live with other FIV+ cats. Come on in and meet Tycho today! If you'd like to meet our available pets, please check the "shelter information" box on the listing to see if the pet is located at our Fairfax Campus (4500 West Ox Road, Fairfax) or our Lorton Campus (8875 Lorton Road, Lorton). Then, come in during our open hours! Both of our locations are open Tuesdays and Wednesdays 12-5 p.m., Thursdays and Fridays 12-7 p.m., and Saturdays and Sundays 11 a.m.-5 p.m. For more information on our adoption process, including requirements and fees, visit: www.fairfaxcounty.gov/animalshelter/adopt
