Please be aware that this kitten tested positive for antibodies for FIV at 8-9 weeks old. At this age it is unclear if this is a false positive from the mother's antibodies or a true positive result. We highly recommend retesting at 4-6 months old to determine whether the kitten is truly FIV positive. If it is, with routine vet care, there's no reason to believe the kitten will not have a normal, happy life. FIV cannot be passed to humans and isn't transmitted to other cats through normal activity such as eating, drinking or grooming.
