My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. *This animal is located at our same-day adoption center partner, St. Louis Park PetSmart. Please contact this location prior to visiting to ensure this animal is still available. A paper adoption application will be completed on site so please do not submit an online adoption application. For more information on adopting from one of our adoption center partners, please visit our Adoption Center Animals page. Wispa is named for a bubbly chocolate bar, and rather like his namesake he is a family favorite already! He loves to be near his human family, happy to be cuddled, played with, or given a comfy spot to curl up in. He also enjoyed the day he got to unexpectedly feature on a work video call - where he was also a hit! A great climber, and a motivated escape artist, Wispa will always do his best to find a way to be with you and would love to find a forever family who can provide him with the attention he craves. He will let you know when he can't find you by meowing, but you will be rewarded with purrs once he does! Wispa is from a local reservation. To learn more about Ruff Start's adoption process and the care our foster animals receive, please visit our How to Adopt page. If you are unable to adopt but want to help this animal and others in our care, you can donate to support the medical and veterinary needs of all Ruff Start Rescue animals. Want to adopt a kitten? We highly recommend you consider bringing home two instead of one! Adopting kittens in pairs has been proven to be beneficial for cats' emotional and behavioral well-being and greatly improves the likelihood of long-term adopter happiness as a result. Adopting more than one kitten also reduces the risk of "Single Kitten Syndrome" (also known as Tarzan Syndrome), a symptom of under-socialization during a kitten's most formative weeks. Kittens who are under-socialized may develop aggressive tendencies toward both other animals and humans as they grow, creating lifelong behavioral issues for owners.
