My Story

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website. Meet Zant! This big, fluffy, friendly boy is about 2 years old and has a wonderful personality to go along with his good looks. He was rescued from a shelter in North Carolina and is anxiously awaiting a loving home of his very own! He gets along really great with all the cats and kittens at his foster home. He is a lap cat and is very affectionate towards everyone he meets, even kids! Just an all around awesome cat, we can't say enough great things about Zant! This cat is neutered, microchipped, up to date on vaccinations, and tested negative for FIV/Felv. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out a 'Cat Adoption Application' at www.DelawarePetRescue.org/forms Adoption fee is: $250Can't adopt? Consider donating! We are in need of cat food, litter, and enrichment items for the kitties in our care! If the animal you are interested in adopting is listed as 'available for adoption', that means the animal is still in DPR's care. *Please note - we do not do in-person meet and greets. Potential adopters can speak to the cats foster mom on the phone or do a meeting on Zoom or Facetime if desired to virtually meet the cat. You can pick your kitty up 'curb side'. Cats can be returned with a full refund for up to one week. * DPR cats receive the following medical care prior to adoption: Initial vet visit Spay or neuter (if cat is 6 months or older)Rabies vaccination (if cat is 6 months or older)Distemper vaccinationSNAP testing for FIV, Leukemia and heart wormBroad spectrum dewormers Monthly flea/tick preventative Ear mite preventative The above is standard for ALL cats in our care. But many cats we rescue also require some additional TLC prior to adoption, such as antibiotics, eye ointments, wound care, fungal treatment, x-rays, or various surgeries. We are an all-volunteer 501(c)3 charity. The adoption fee helps to offset our standard and non-standard vet bills.
