My Story

Copper is fostered in Waukesha, WI. This handsome guy is Copper. Copper is a 3.5 year old male australian shepherd. He is currently a 35 lb boy, but could stand to lose a few pounds. Copper is very human focused and would make a great companion for someone who is home more often than not. Copper LOVES fetch and this is a great way to help him lose a few extra pounds. He would be a fantastic walking partner for someone. Copper will need someone who is skilled with the herding breed and can be in charge. Otherwise, Copper has a tendency to think he needs to be the boss. Copper is crate trained and house trained. Given his affection for humans, he would do well as an only dog. If there is another dog in the home, it might be best that they are on the submissive side. Truly Copper just wants to be LOVED! Copper is neutered, up-to-date on all vaccinations, microchipped and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm for any current or previous pets must is required to adopt from our rescue. NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
