My Story

Kallie is fostered in Milwaukee, WI Kallie is a beautiful blue merle female aussie. We believe she might also be mixed with border collie. Kallie was originally a stray to an Amish farm, and we were able to take her (last) litter of pups and Kallie into rescue. Kallie is estimated to be about 2 years old, and weighs approximately 35-40 lbs, with a gorgeous fluffy tail. Kallie has adjusted quickly to being an indoor dog. She knows that the couch is way more comfy than the hay barn bed she previously had. Kallie is potty trained and crate trained. She barks initially in the crate, but settles down nicely. Kallie is timid when first meeting folks. For this reason, she and her foster mom have been working with a trainer. The trainer recommends an adopter who is willing to work at Kallie's pace, slowly building a bond. She also feels that Kallie would do best in a home without other dogs and with a female adopter (or primary caregiver), along with LOTS of time to adjust to her new home and new adopters. This is a recommendation, of course, and we do our best to match our dogs with adopters for the absolute best success. Kallie is learning to walk nicely on a leash, something her foster mom has been working on. Kallie is learning so much and is a very eager to please girl. She loves to provide kisses to her humans. As Kallie adjusts to indoor life as a normal dog, more of her personality is coming through. Kallie is a medium energy girl and has likely been around kids and cats in her past, however, she does not have those in her current foster home. We think Kallie would prefer to lavish all the human attention and would be ideal as an only dog. Kallie is spayed, microchipped, up-to-date on all vaccinations, and receiving monthly preventatives for fleas, ticks and heartworms. Proof of heartworm prevention for any current or previous pets is required to adopt from our organization. For more information on our adoption process or to complete an adoption application, please visit our website at www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org. NOTE: All of our dogs live in foster homes with volunteers so we need an approved application on file to set up a meet with a dog you might have an interest in. Please visit our website for more information on our adoption process, our adoption fees and a link to our adoption application. We pride ourselves on matches that work for both the dog and your family. MASR is here for your support, advice and safety net for our dogs for the remainder of their lives. www.MidwestAustralianShepherdRescue.org
