My Story

24Dough Male Chi/mix 8 mos. old 15 lbs. Crate Trained: Yes Leash Trained: In progress Dogs: Yes Cats: Curious Kids: 10+ House Trained: Yes, on a schedule When I got Dough, he was terrified of everything. Didn't know how to respond with a collar, vest or leashes. He is a work in progress that will require lots of patience and love. We have had him a little over a week and he has made good progress. He is potty trained, and I make sure he goes out several times a day. He is crate trained and sleeps good at night with no potty accidents. We have another dog named St. Yves (Sassy) that he sleeps with, and they have become very good friends. Dough is good with all our dogs, and we have one dog savvy cat and Dough is just curious, so no real problems there. He is learning how to walk on a leash in our backyard. Haven't taken him out for a real walk because he still gets timid and afraid with loud noises. He is learning how to not jump on us and is learning to stay, no and wait. Still is timid with my husband, but very small steps he is beginning to trust him. I believe Dough will need a mentor dog that he will bond and play with. He like toys, chew toys and loves treats and his food. I'm not sure how he is with kids, but I think he would be fine if kids were older because of his jumping and be a puppy. This sweet boy will steal your heart! He loves to cuddle up next to his human in the bed or on the couch. He is like a toddler, stretching out then curling into your arms. He will take naps with you as well. He will sit on your lap but relaxes into your arms when you stretch out with him. He is not a fan of being carried around unless he feels secure in your arms. He is a happy dog and will make a great companion once he gains his confidence.
