My Story

MEET Bluey (aka Murphy aka Murph) Male Shepherd mix Approx. 4 1/2 yrs. old Approx. 45 lbs. This delightful little snuggle bug is the perfect size dog for any family. He is sweet, eager to please and has a fun energetic personality. He loves a good butt scratch and is happy to pay you in some snuggles and kisses. Kids: Didn’t spend much time with kids but seems to love all humans Dogs: yes big and small Cats: Did well with our house cat. Interested but after a quick sniff he is respectful of boundaries. House Trained: Yes Crate Trained: In progress- he needs a little coaching to encourage him in but once in he does great. Does get excited when it’s time to come out. Murphy would do great with an active family and loves to go for walks. He is still working on his leash training but has progressed quite a bit. He tends to get a little squirrelly when passing dogs that are barking at him but overall doing well. He loves to play fetch and is even happy to just carry his ball around showing it off. Murphy played great with both our big and small dog and was happy to be a part of a good dog pile, but truly loves his human snuggles as well. We have been working on basic commands and he is progressing with sit, down, and place. Murphy does love to steal a freshly worn shoe, sock, or shirt and hide it in his bed but no issues with chewing on them. He has been a great office mate for me sleeping throughout meetings and then giving me the occasional nose tap or lick for a quick snuggle sesh. He has been really progressing with crate training, going in at night with no whines and sleeps through the night. He also doesn’t mind it during the day when the family is out, but definitely excite to be let out when we get home. He isn’t much of a barker, I don’t even think he has barked once with us. He is a happy dog that is eager to please and be loved.
