My Story

Meet Ace! Ace is an amazingly handsome Labrador Retriever mix with a heart full of love and energy! He welcomes everyone he meets with kisses and a wagging tail. Found as a stray with his brother, he's adjusting to home life and learning new things daily. Though timid at first, Ace warms up quickly--especially with the help of treats! Ace has mastered potty training (yep no accidents in the house) and travels in the car without issues. Going for walks there is no pulling on the leash, which makes for an enjoyable stroll. Crate trained and working on all the basics like sit, lay down and place. He is food motivated so mastering these will come quickly also. Ace is in a local foster home with two other dogs and two cats and there are two little nieces that come over a few times a week and the boys love them. He loves to cuddle with his canine buddies. With his low-key demeanor and playful nature, Ace is looking for a patient family who can continue his training and give him the love and structure he needs. If you're looking for a sweet, loyal companion, Ace might be the perfect match! We do think this boy would love having another dog in the home to play with but as long as he gets to visit with other dogs at fun places (doggie daycare etc) he will be fine. The adoption fee also includes the transport fee when applicable ATTENTION PUPPY ADOPTERS: You must attend training/behavior classes with your new dog unless you are an experienced dog owner and your adoption coordinator is comfortable with your experience. This requirement is for the benefit of you and your puppy, so if you experience behavior issues, you have a point of contact. PLEASE--Think long and hard before adopting a puppy. Consider the lifestyle change this puppy will come with. He cannot be crated for more than 3-4 hours until he's older. Puppy-proofing your home will be necessary. Puppies scratch and nip, so if you have small children, can they handle this? Training will be so crucial in this puppy's life. Do you have the time? IMPORTANT INFORMATION - Paws New England is a foster-based rescue. Our dogs reside in various locations throughout the South and New England. Adoption donations cover pre-adoption vet costs (including vaccinations, spay/neuter when age appropriate, and heartworm testing/treatment when necessary), a microchip, and transportation to New England if necessary. Donations for our young, healthy puppies and dogs support their fellow canines of advanced age or suffering from injuries and abuse whose donations are reduced but whose veterinary costs are typically much higher. We appreciate your understanding that your newly adopted dog will help others in need.
