Alp is an approximately 5 year old shaggy "California" dog who was confiscated from an 86 dog hoarding situation in Ceres, California, in March of 2024. His DNA has Chihuahua, Bichon, poodle, Dachshund, MinPin, Maltese and Cocker spaniel as well as several other assorted small breed markers. Mini Heinz 57! He is a shaggy little guy who weighs 13 pounds.
Alp is house trained and walks well on leash. He gets along well with other dogs and is comfortable with riding in the car. We are looking for a patient low key adopter who will take the time to let Alp learn a new person. These dogs came from an absolutely horrendous environment - they had never been outside in their lives or been clean or been exposed to normal human activity. Alp is extremely devoted to his foster mum - and he will be become the same with a new family, but it WILL take time and patience.
We are asking for no small children - quiet older children who will give Alp his own space should be fine. He will probably be okay with cats based on breed and group history. Secure fencing and a medium amount of daily exercise are a must. This boy would love to be a couch potato, but a decent walk every day is good for both long term health reasons and socialization. A calm dog buddy to help Alp adjust to a new home would be perfect.
Alp is in foster care in the Portland area. His adoption fee is $200. He is current on vaccinations and has been neutered and had a dental.
