Aptly named for her sleek amber coat, shy 3-year-old Amber has slowly emerged from her shell to reveal her supremely sweet nature. At a fit 40 pounds, she's paw-litely submissive with the other dogs in her foster home as she learns to read their cues, but she now loves joining her fosters in bed for several hours of cozy cuddles in the morning. She also loves resting her head on them and turning over for tummy rubs, learning daily how special a tender touch can feel. Especially sweet around the resident cats, and having re-discovered the joy of playing with toys, Amber's favorite so far is an antler bone, while her favorite treats are mini Milk Bone biscuits. As these are still early days, she seems to know "come," and being highly intelligent and mainly motivated by love, she should prove extremely easy to teach. Leash, crate trained and almost fully house-trained, sweet Amber will flourish in a loving home that will patiently bolster her confidence, continue her socialization with people and other dogs, and complete her training, including her commands, in exchange for a love like no other.
Animal Rescue of the Rockies believes every pet should find a wonderful and caring home. To ensure each pet finds the best possible home, we ask you fill out our adoption application so we can learn more about you and your household. We review each application in the order submitted and will contact you within 48 hours (please check your spam folder for our emails).
If you and the dog are a good match then we'll connect you with our dog's foster parents to chat more in-depth. If both you and the foster agree that the dog is a good fit then a meet and greet is scheduled. We require applicants' dogs to meet ours to ensure they get along. We'll ask you to read and sign our adoption agreement and pay the adoption fee to complete the adoption when it comes time. Our adoption fees help cover the costs of saving more lives! A home visit will be scheduled within one week of your new pet going home with you.
The adoption fee for this pet is $375. Our adoption fee covers the following:
Spay/neuter
Microchip
DAPP vaccinations as age-appropriate for the dog.
