My Story

Meet Apollo, a handsome Husky/Rottie mix who’s ready to find his forever home! At ~2 years old, this charming & affectionate boy is bursting with personality & love, eagerly awaiting a family to call his own. Apollo strikes the perfect balance between playful & chill with his medium energy level. He loves zoomies & playing with his favorite toys but is just as happy relaxing & watching TV by your side. He's the ideal companion for outdoor enthusiasts, whether it’s hiking, camping, or exploring the great outdoors. Picture Apollo on a scenic trail with you, or curled up by the campfire—he’s always up for an adventure! Although he weighs in at an impressive 90 lbs, Apollo is gentle and great with kids (preferably older children due to his size) & other dogs—just no cats for this guy. Apollo knows basic commands like "sit," "lay," "no," "paw," & he loves to show off his skills! He’s healthy, very dog friendly, fully house-trained, well-mannered, & enjoys lounging in his crate with the door open. Plus, he doesn’t chew on furniture or shoes—just his toys! This precious boy is ready to bring endless joy, loyalty, & affection to his new family. Apply today to come take him home!! PLEASE READ BELOW: If you are interested in meeting and/or adopting, the first step is to please visit our website to complete an application and read all of our FAQs: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/adopt **Please do not use the "Introduce Yourself" feature. The information needed to determine if you might be a match for one of our animals can only be found on our application. An inquiry, question, or introduction through Petfinder is NOT an application. All known details about our animals are posted on their profile and updated daily. Other info would be discussed in detail with the foster during the application review process. Due to the number of introductions/questions received (hundreds daily) we ask you submit an application on our website (that application can be used for any dog with Take Paws Rescue). The adoption fee for adult dogs covers age appropriate vaccinations, microchip, spay/neuter if not yet performed, heartworm test & appropriate heartworm treatment by the rescue's vet. All dogs in our care are also kept up-to-date on HW/Flea Prevention. Please see our website for more information. 2022 Adoption Fee Scale for non-benefactor animals: Puppies under 12 months - $350 Dogs over 12 months - $250 *Take Paws Rescue saves dogs from high-kill shelters in Southeast Louisiana, owner surrenders, and discarded dogs with uncertain futures. All of our animals live in foster homes where they are socialized, and well cared for. An application will be required to make sure it’s the perfect match! For additional information, including the adoption process and our adoption fee scale for all our adoptable pets, see our FAQs page: https://www.takepawsrescue.org/faq *Any breed labels used by Take Paws Rescue, its employees/volunteers, or on vet records provided cannot be guaranteed. Breed labels are given based on information obtained during intake and/or best guesses based on appearance and/or temperament of the dogs and Take Paws Rescue gives no assurance to the accuracy of these labels. Labels are necessary for postings to many animal networking sites, such as Pet Finder, and are no way a guarantee. Additionally, exact age and potential size cannot be guaranteed.
