Meet Ares!
Ares is a 3 year old male who came to the shelter on 12/13 as a stray. Ares is such a sweet boy who is a little scared in the shelter environment. He warms up very quick with some love and Treats! He is pretty quiet for the most part and will put his head right in your hand asking for pets.
Ares friends had this to say about him.
- I went to get Trace from the parking lot where he was abandoned. He was barking, but once he saw me he greeted me with a loose body, soft eyes, and a wagging tail. He gave me some kisses while I untied the leash. He was scared to walk through doors, but otherwise he was a good boy and greeted everyone socially.
-Ares is a nice boy with lots of energy and some tendencies towards overarousal. In the lobby, he was generally easy to manage on the leash but would occasionally jump up and try to mount my leg, or jump up and nip at his leash, playfully pulling on it. These behaviors did not escalate and I was able to redirect him each time. He knows sit and will walk pretty well on leash even though he is very large and strong.
- Tense and stressed but very sweet. Adult only home preferred added due to some jumping.
