My Story

? "Bow before me, humble land-dwellers, for I am Asherah, goddess of the sea—and your future best friend!" ? Okay, okay, I may not actually rule the oceans (yet), but with a name like mine, meaning “she who walks on water,” how could I not have a larger-than-life personality? My journey to you hasn’t been an easy one, but like the sea, I’ve weathered some rough waters and come out ready to embrace a brighter horizon. ? You see, my siblings and I came from a place where love and care were in short supply. Our former owner, though likely doing their best, kept us confined indoors, never letting us feel the sun or the grass beneath our paws. When they went into a nursing facility, we were left to fend for ourselves—cast out into a world we didn’t know how to navigate. Some of my friends didn’t make it, and some days I wondered if I would even survive out there. But here I am, proving that even after a storm, there’s beauty in the calm. I’ve been given this beautiful name to remind me—and you—of the life I’m ready to create: full of love, laughter, and second chances. I may be learning the ropes of this big world, but with a little patience and a lot of snuggles, I’ll show you just how much joy one dog can bring. I’m around 6 months old and thought to be a Great Pyrenees mix (with a sprinkle of mystery for extra charm). At 39 pounds, I know, I’m not exactly a giant... yet. When I came into rescue, I was pretty emaciated, so I’m still working on filling out my fluff, and I’ll probably end up around 60 pounds or so. Not quite polar bear size, but definitely enough to earn my title as a Pyrabear. And let me tell you, I’m one-of-a-kind in the most fabulous way. Have you ever seen markings this gorgeous? I mean, seriously, they’re like Mother Nature’s work of art. If you think they look stunning in photos, just wait until you see them in person—and especially in the sunlight. They pop like a thousand sunsets, and I can almost guarantee that once I’m in your life, everyone will want to meet me and ask where you found me. I bet they will be just as shocked as you when you share my story with them, but I guess that is why second chances are so important! You could say that I’m as sweet as a sea breeze with a splash of playful energy. You could say I’m their shadow… and not just because I’m a fan of their style. I’m learning from them, and they’re teaching me how to love life all over again! When I’m outside, I’m all about romping, exploring, and living my best puppy life. But when it’s time to relax, you’ll find me curled up in a cozy spot, practicing my ‘look how chill I am’ pose. I’m a great balance of playful and calm, so I’d fit in well with a family that’s active, but I do need a little time to get used to new places and faces. Think of me as the girl who’s cautiously friendly—I’m no golden retriever at first, but I will warm up to you with some patience (and maybe a treat or two). And while my name might sound like I’m all about making waves, I’m actually a pretty well-mannered lady. I’m doing my best to be on my best behavior, and honestly, I think once I find my confidence in this new world, I’d love to bring some joy and comfort to others. Picture me as a therapy dog, visiting retirement homes or schools, spreading smiles, and giving snuggles. But hey, if you’re more of a 'snack-sharing, fort-building, movie-watching at home' kind of family, I’m all in for that too. If you’re someone who doesn’t mind a cozy apartment life, then we’re on the same page! I’ll need a little guidance on this whole leash thing—what are these ropes people call leashes for, anyway? But I’m all in if you’re committed to teaching me the ropes (pun totally intended) and building my confidence for those daily walks. As long as you're game, I’m ready to strut my stuff around the neighborhood. Oh, and here’s the best part—I’m already potty trained! How awesome is that?! I may be new to indoor living, but being a proper lady? That’s just who I am. Now, as for kennels... let’s just say we’re not exactly BFFs. I’m not a fan. But don’t worry, I’m so well-mannered that I can be trusted to roam free around the house without causing any chaos. Seriously, I haven’t chewed up anything I shouldn’t. I’m just a super well-behaved gal who wants nothing more than to please you! ? So, if you’re looking for a sweet, playful girl with the heart of a goddess (I mean, my name is Asherah, after all), I might just be the one for you! I’ve got the charm, the manners, and the adorable looks to win you over. Ready to let me make a wave of joy in your life? Let’s make it happen! If you’re ready to welcome me into your life, you’ll need to come meet me in Kiefer, OK! We don’t do those transports. Think of it as a fun road trip to meet your new best friend (hint: that’s me!). I can promise you one thing: the love, snuggles, and tail wags waiting for you will make it all worth it! So, grab your keys, hit the road, and let’s make some memories together! You can find the application to adopt me by either messaging PPFT directly or on their website! ? Love Asherah
