My Story

Meet Astro, the sensitive but sweet 1 year old male Cur mix seeking his forever home! Astro here is a shy pup, however who doesn't love a bashful guy once in a while? This 53 pound stud is very loving and bonds closely to his humans once he is comfortable in their presence. It doesn't take long for this cutie to fall in love, so give him a good butt scratch and maybe some treats, then immediate heart eyes from Astro! He is the perfect gentleman you've been looking for in your life, and he can't wait to show you why. Astro is a young pup that is looking for a more active family that will also be up for a good ole snuggle session after play time. He is friendly with other dogs, however he hasn't shown his wild side yet as he is newer to our shelter. Astro has not yet been formally introduced to cats or children. We're still learning more about this pooch every day, but so far he is wonderful and will make someone a spectacular companion! Astro will be available for adoption during our Open Adoption Hours, Friday through Sunday, 11am to 4pm. No appointments taken. Walk in only. Please see our Adoption FAQs link below for information on our adoption process. Thank you! https://hslwr.org/adoption-faqs. In terms of potty training, Astro is currently in a shelter environment where it's hard for staff to guarantee that he is fully house-trained. We tell everyone to treat your new shelter pup like a puppy when you bring them home to ensure that they learn your routine when it comes to a potty schedule.
