My Story

ADOPT ME ONLINE: https://ophrescue.org/dogs/14119 **$100 off adoption fee in December!** Name: Basil Gender: Female Breed: Mixed Age: 1.5 years old Weight: 40lbs Current Location: Baltimore, Md About Basil Hello! My name is Basil! Im looking to end 2024 and start the new year off with my forever family! Is that with you? Must love kisses and snuggles. At 40lbs, I'm the perfect size to still qualify as a lap dog ;) As much as I love a cuddle, I also like a good walk. Like every pup, I get the occasional zoomies and like to make my foster mom chuckle running around. Im very friendly and havent met a stranger yet. My foster mom is helping me learn some manners to be an even better pup than I am now. She says Im very smart and I catch on fast. I enjoy hanging out with my puppy foster siblings and they are helping me learn manners too. Foster mom says I should also mention that Im crate trained, though Im a little fussy when I first get in. And Im mostly house broken. Ive had a couple accidents as Im learning the routines and figuring out to signal I need to go out, but that part of the learning process in a new foster home. Ill figure it out soon! I hope if youve read this far, youve decided Im the perfect fit to join the family! Go ahead and apply! To adopt fill out the simple online application at https://ophrescue.org Operation Paws for Homes, Inc. (OPH) rescues dogs and cats of all breeds and ages from high-kill shelters in NC, VA, MD, and SC, reducing the numbers being euthanized. With limited resources, the shelters are forced to put down 50-90% of the animals that come in the front door. OPH provides pet adoption services to families located in VA, DC, MD, PA and neighboring states. OPH is a 501(c)(3) organization and is 100% donor funded. OPH does not operate a shelter or have a physical location. We rely on foster families who open their homes to give love and attention to each pet before finding a forever home. All adult dogs, cats, and kittens are altered prior to adoption. Puppies too young to be altered at the time of adoption must be brought to our partner vet in Ashland, VA for spay or neuter paid for by Operation Paws for Homes by 6 months of age. Adopters may choose to have the procedure done at their own vet before 6 months of age and be reimbursed the amount that the rescue would pay our partner vet in Ashland.
