My Story

Hi, my name is Beans! I'm a PURPLE pawprint, which means I will fit well into a home that meets some specific criteria. Here is what would work best for me in my new home: -Personality: Energetic, rambunctious, intelligent, still learning -Can Live with Kids: No -Can Live with Cats: No -Can Live with Dogs: Likely yes - all introductions are done at WHS to ensure everyone gets along. These puppies would benefit from an already well socialized dog who can help them gain confidence and learn "how to dog". -Can do Apartment Living: No -Potty Trained: Working on it -Bite History: No -Positive Reward Based Obedience Classes Required: Yes, 6 week puppy course. -Energy Level: HIGH!! -Needs Medical Procedure Before Going Home: Yes, neuter/MC. These belgian malinois puppies are in need of a very specific, experienced, and dedicated home. While they are full of potential, they come with unique challenges due to their less-than-ideal breeding background. They are a product of poor breeding practices, which means they may have some developmental quirks that require special attention. However, with the right person or family, these pups can flourish and grow into loyal, intelligent companions. These puppies are highly driven and instinctual, which is characteristic of their breed. They need a family or individual who can provide consistent structure, positive reinforcement, and plenty of mental and physical stimulation to keep their minds and bodies at ease. They may need extra patience and understanding as they learn to navigate the world around them and figure out how to interact with humans, other animals, and their environment. Their socialization has been lacking, so early intervention with positive training methods will be essential to help them become confident, well-adjusted dogs! If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application for review. *It is required that you have had prior dog experience to adopt these puppies - preferably experience with intelligent working breed dogs.* If you are interested in adopting, please fill out an application on our website (www.whatcomhumane.org/adopt) or in person at our facility. We recommend calling into the shelter after your application has been submitted so our front desk can give you next steps on our adoption process.
