My Story

Introducing Bear. Bear is a 5 year old, 25 lb poodle-Shih Tzu mix. Bear looks like a poodle and has the sweet, loving “I want to be at your side always” temperament of a Shih Tzu and will follow you everywhere you go. Bear has to be short for “Teddy Bear” because he is a cuddler and a snuggler. Bear is shy and slow to warm up, but once he does, he is a friend to all - dogs, cats, kids. If they’ll move at his pace, they’ll have a friend for life. Bear is a playful guy and is working hard to get the other dogs at his foster home to play with him. He absolutely LOVES his walks and if you pull out a leash, or brush against them, heck, even walk near where you keep them, he will dance his Dance of Joy letting you know “He is READY TO GO!” If you set a New Year’s resolution to walk more, Bear is here to help!! Bear has a little anxiety which presents as barking upon an initial meet. He chooses “flight” over fight, so interested adopters will want to work with this gentle boy to boost his confidence and help him be the best version of himself. He is not at all aggressive - there is a photo of the Foster’s cat eating the Pupperoni for Bear, and Bear just sitting there, watching and wagging his tail!! If you’ve been looking for a real live Teddy Bear in canine form, Bear is your guy. He’s looking for his forever valentine - will you be his? Our adoption fee is $350 for dogs over 6 months of age and includes all age appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, micro chip implantation and registration/transfer, heartworm test and much more.
