Breed: French Bulldog
Gender: female
Weight: 28lbs
Energy Level: medium
Color/Markings: blue merle
Good with other dogs: yes
Good with cats: yes
Homes with children considered: yes kids over 7
Special needs: Let’s face it, French Bulldogs are not the healthiest breed of dog out there. Because of this, we ask that all potential adopters familiarize themselves with common bulldog ailments before reaching out to us to adopt. Conditions to research include BOAS, IVDD, skin and ear infections, corneal ulcers, interdigital cysts, and heat intolerance. While this particular dog may be healthy and fine, we want all adopters to be aware that these things should be on their radar to recognize and watch out for so they can be addressed immediately in the event that their new little bulldog friend has a medical issue arise. Educated owners have happier/healthier dogs!
Medications: joint supplement recommended
Medical History: She was surrendered to us because she was having back pain. She was treated and tested for that and is now doing very well. Her new family will need to be able to recognize the symptoms of back pain and be willing to treat her accordingly. No jumping off of couches/beds, minimal steps, etc. A joint supplement would benefit her greatly.
Life History: Becky was an owner surrender.
Likes: chin scratches, peanut butter
Dislikes: People dumping up to her makes her nervous, she cannot be flipped on her back like a baby when carried
Ideal home: would be willing to take her to the vet and get medication immediately in the event that she ever has back/neck pain again. She is so so sweet and deserving of a loving home. She is a bit shy with new people but quickly comes out of her shell!
Please note that many of our dogs come from “high volume breeders”. This means that they have lived in a kennel environment and before coming to us were not used to “normal” dog things like walking in a leash, toys, strangers, stairs, grass, and housetraining. We socialize and prepare them for their new homes from the moment they come to us, but some are a little more shy or timid than others. This means that as their new family, you will have to be patient and kind and give them time to adjust to your lifestyle. Please reach out to us with any questions regarding this dog in particular and their current confidence and training level to see if they may be a good fit!
How to Adopt from Bella Run Equine:
1. Reach out to us with a brief paragraph about you and what you are looking for in a dog. If you are interested in a particular dog, let us know that.
2. We will then send you an adoption application to fill out (this takes 5 minutes for most people).
3. The thing that slows us down when approving people is obtaining their vet reference. If you call your vet and have them email a recommendation to us at
[email protected], it speeds up the process so much. A good vet recommendation will include your current pets on file, their vaccination status, and whether you provide recommended vet care to your animals.
4. Once you are approved, we will contact you to set up a meet and greet. This means that you will need to drive to us with your children and current dogs to meet the potential adoptable dog.
5. Since you are already pre-approved at this point, you can choose to take the dog home with you that day if you wish (and if we determine that it is a good fit, we reserve the right to deny any adoption at any time based on suitability)
*The best way to contact us is to text us at 740-707-0793 or email us at
[email protected] with the dog’s name in the subject line.*
