My Story
Bella came to us after, initially to be boarded while the owner looks for a new place to live, since new managment wanted "no pet policy" even as a doctor recommended ESA animal. The owner randomly, after about a month, decided to just call to say that they didn't want her back, the relocation aspect was too much for the person to figure out. So, Bella is not here due to her but at the hands of people.
Bella is a quiet and submissive spayed female cattle dog mix. She is around 35-40# in weight, about the size of a small Border Collie. Bella is housebroken, crate trained (but prefers not to have to be crated and will whine at times), she is up-to-date on vaccines, and will be microchipped upon adoption. Since she has been surrendered, we heartworm tested her, did a more through fecal check for Parvo, Giardia, and Coccidia which she is negative for all of those aligments. We have started her on monthly flea/tick prevention along with heartworm prevention. Bella is slow to acclimate to new settings, it was about a week before she started wandering around what ended up being her foster home. She was probably overwhelmed with having more than a cat to share a home with, now she had a few dogs, cats and kittens in the same home. She does well with the dogs and cats but kittens under 6 months, she has to be watched around, best to not trust her but adult cats just fine. Bella requires a means of confinement to the yard whether fence or tie-out, would not recommend invisible fencing. Bella displays behaviors as though she has been traumatized by an uneducated/untrained individual with an electric training collar and she will tremble with one on or even the sound of the beep-beep it makes. Bella tends to favor females over men. We were briefly informed that an ex-boyfriend of the surrendering party was not so nice to Bella. She has NOT displayed any aggression toward men or anyone, while in foster and previous owner claims she never was aggressive while she had her. Bella would just coward down to the floor or whine.
We are looking for a quiet home where she is the only pet or maybe just one other, too many animals, at least dogs, causes her to regress. When she doesn't have to compete for attention she thrives much better. She also likes children, she has been around kids 5 years and older.
To find out more about Bella, please call or text the foster mom at (218)640-1930. Don't forget to leave a message or else can't return call/text. Also, be considerate when calling/texting as this is not a business line but a personal line.
