Bella

Meet Bella! This very beautiful 1 year old lemon yellow beagle is available for adoption. She was taken in to a shelter with her two sisters when their owner was no longer able to care for them. They were at a rural shelter for 3 months before we took them in here. Unlike most of the beagles we take in this time of year, Bella was not a hunting dog. She LOVES to live in a house and lay by the fire. She knows how to be a family pet. Bella is housebroken, loves to hang out with her people, and walks great on a leash. All three girls are a little chubby from their stay at the shelter, and Bella is a little bit bigger than the other two, so we are working on getting weight off her. She currently weighs 35 pounds but should weigh about 25 or 27. Her foster parents have her in "Doggy Bootcamp" and are great at walking her even when it is cold outside, so she is already looking better. She is young so the weight should come off quickly, but whoever adopts her does need to plan on continuing her weight loss plan. She and her sisters love the walks but do need a nap when they get back. Bella is very friendly and a little cuddler, and despite her size, is not as treat motivated as she is praise motivated. She loves getting attention. She is actually pretty quiet and not as talkative as her sister, Peanut. Although it would be wonderful if someone decided to adopt Bella with one of her sisters, it is not a requirement. She would do great with another dog in the home but also would be OK as the only dog as long as she gets lots of love and attention. She would be fine with kids.
