My Story

*** AVAILABLE ON-SITE ONLY FRIDAYS AND SATURDAYS *** Some dogs come into our program with instant notoriety and rise to a celebrity status quickly. Bella is definitely one of them. As a popular pup at Saving Grace, Bella would love to give back to her community by helping other Saving Grace dogs with major medical needs, our senior dogs, nursing moms, and those who need life-saving heartworm treatments. Through her adoption, Bella will ask her new family to assist him by making a donation of $300 (tax-deductible) in addition to the adoption fee ($395) to help her friends in need. Have you secretly dreamed since childhood of having your very own Muppet? Were the Fraggles your favorite? Well, here's your chance. Bella is a 5-year-old part Muppet / part... Poodle? Maltese? Chinese Crested? We're not sure, but regardless she is mighty adorable. Although she arrived at Saving Grace in need of a makeover, she was tolerant of the first steps of having a few mats removed and she bore her bath with stoic good grace. She has a silky and very soft white coat of that very desirable "low-shed" but "will need regular grooming" variety. It seems clear this lady knew a past life of great care and love, and she is eager to find that again. She will undoubtedly soon regain an exterior that is as beautiful as she is on the inside. Bella arrived with her best buddy Snickers in tow, and she is definitely the boss of the pair. She'd be very happy to find a home with him, but she would also adjust well to life as an only dog, or possibly with another dog as long as she can be in charge. She was very overwhelmed by shelter life but the minute she landed in her foster home it is clear that she knew what it meant to be a perfect house dog. Bella has excellent manners and she has made no messes in her foster home. She is definitely most comfortable around women and follows her foster mom around the house like a shadow. She was a bit hesitant of her foster dad at first but is warming up, and will surely grow fond of anyone who will be kind and patient and give her a bit of space as she adapts to her new life. She would likely be happiest in an adult only home or one with older kids who let Bella be Bella on her own terms. She loves going for walks on the leash and likes to amble along and smell all the smells and see all the things there are to see. She is in no rush as long as she is with her humans and that would be 24 hours, 7 days a week if it were up to her. Bella loves to be petted and snuggled. She gives the very best dog kisses ever. She'll never say no to a treat but she secretly hopes her future person or family will help her stay nice and fit so that she can enjoy long walks for years to come. Is she perfect? Probably not, but she's pretty darn close. And how many other chances will you have to adopt a Muppet? Get that application in today!
