N INQUIRY FROM PETFINDER IS NOT AN APPLICATION! READ THE ENTIRE POST FOR INFORMATION HOW TO APPLY. Meet Ben! Ben is a 1 year old male shih tzu/yorkie mix and he weighs about 8 pounds. Ben arrived in rescue after coming from a home with too many pups that was unable to properly care for them all. Ben is learning how to be a cherished pet in foster care and would love a patient family to call his very own His foster mom says: Ben is very cautious and shy in the beginning when meeting new humans and other pups. Once he settles in he loves getting the attention he craves. He loves snuggling up next to you. He would do ok with another pup in the home of similar size (it will take him some time to warm up). He would also do ok as an only pup as long as his humans were around for the better part of the day. Ben can be a bit of a velcro pup once y'all have become bff's. For such a little guy he’s got a big bark. He will alert bark when he thinks it’s necessary and will bark when you leave the room and not allow him to follow. Ben is not 100% house trained but we are working on this. A fenced in yard is a must. No exceptions! He does not walk on leash and at this time is very nervous to be on one. He will need a patient family willing to work with him on his leash training. Ben is still learning what is appropriate to chew on and what is not. Due to him being shy/nervous, a home with no younger children (older, patient ones would be ok) is preferred. Ben is neutered, up to date on vaccines, heartworm negative, microchipped and has had his teeth cleaned. Ben is fostered in the Orlando area and his adoption donation is $375.
