Benson is a great dog but has an unknown past that seems to cause him to slowly trust new people and situations. He is best suited to an experienced adopter for this reason. Once Benson knows his people, he is super sweet. He is both quiet, and clean, and he loves to play with toys and be right beside his special person enjoying a quiet life. His darling underbite will steal your heart! Fully grown at just 19 pounds, he is a perfect size for most homes! Benson is in good health, neutered, microchipped, and fully vaccinated. We are seeking a home with an adopter able to work from home or be at home the majority of the day to spend time with him. A home without larger pets or small children, and with a fenced, secure yard will best suit Benson. Our adoption process starts with your email to [email protected] or Petfinder inquiry. After we receive it, we will email you our prescreening questionnaire. Your answers will help us determine that your home and lifestyle matches the needs of Benson and our adoption criteria. Once determined, we will set up a private meeting with you and your family to meet Benson at a park near our private kennel just east of Richmond. After meeting him and determining that he matches your preferences for a pet, we will accept your application. A home visit by one of our trained volunteers is required for all adoptions, and we will speak with your vet to ensure that you are a responsible pet owner.
