My Story

Bingo is a 4 year old male dog who is no stranger to ACCT Philly. Bingo originally came into ACCT on 2/3 as a stray and he was quickly adopted. However, Bingo came back into our care through no fault of his own on 3/29 and he has not been enjoying our accommodations. Bingo has been extremely stressed while here and would very much like to find a permanent home with someone who can train him properly and show him the patience and love he needs to decompress and feel safe. Read what ACCT friends have to say about Bingo: 4/3 Very reactive in kennel this morning and began to charge the bars snarling and snapping. 3/29 Bingo would've been easy to leash if he hadn't bee in an elevated kennel. When I approached Bingo has looked at me with soft eyes, a wagging tail, and a loose body. He laid down and allowed me to leash him easily. The hard part was getting him down to the ground. He was very nervous of the height and didn't want to be picked up right away. He's a big dog, so he's not used to being picked up at all! I gave him a while to adjust and get to know me. He gave me some light kisses but would tense up when I reached to lift him. After a few minutes I was able to use the blanket to wrap around him and lift him out. He did not react at all and was fine once he was on the ground. Bingo was pretty nervous in the room. He was staying near the doors, focused on them, until I crouched down and called him over. He came running up with soft eyes, low wags, and a loose body. He squeezed himself underneath of me and allowed for some pets. He then leaned his head into my chest and accepted more pets and comfort. He definitely seems like he seeks his handler for comfort. He's a nervous boy and needs someone to show him that it's all okay. Bingo allowed all over handling with no issues. When offered a treat he took it from me very gently but dropped it immediately and didn't eat it. He came every time I called with soft body language. He ran away from me when I saw him peeing and began walking towards him to lift my leash. It seems like his "house training" with the previous owner may have been scary for him. He needs a low and slow approach to feel comfortable. Bingo is so so sweet, he just needs someone patient and understanding to help him understand that everything isn't scary.Big, sudden moves scare Bingo. I tried getting him to sit at one point and he flinched and fled. Low and slow approach for this poor guy. 3/29 Super sweet and gentle boy. Allowed all handling. Shy at first but warms up quickly 2/5 Bingo was very nervous in the room. He had a low tail, wide eyes, and walked around. He was very timid and unsure of trusting us, but when the main handler sat down he ran over to her and nudged himself close. He stopped taking treats once in the room but would try to seek out comfort from the handlers and stay near us. He allowed light petting on his head and back without any issues. He was tolerant to both of us petting him but did not warm up or loosen at all, remained fairly nervous but tolerant. 2/3 Updated behavior: Hes scared, but sweet. When you raise your hand to pet him, he hunkers down and shakes. All he wants is to crawl into your lap. He's very gentle and careful when he steps onto your lap. He hid his face in my armpit when we snuggled. Please go slow with him. 2/3 Bingo was a little shy and scared with me first when I entered the backyard, but allowed to be leashed after a couple of mins. Jumped into the van on his own.
