My Story

Birdie, Bird! Birdie is a very cute girl with unique markings and the most velvety fur. She and her liter were born to a backyard breeder who accidentally overdosed all the dogs with ivermectin which can be fatal. Luckily, she and her litter mates survived but have some vision impairment. But like all good hounds, Birdie uses her nose a lot and doesn't have difficulties getting around. She does sometimes get spooked by things and can be a bit clumsy (but that also might just be who she is). Birdie is a hound puppy and loves to chew toys and things that might seem like a toy so she still needs good supervision. She's great in the crate. She loves other dogs and playing in the yard but she's also a wonderful walking buddy. She typically starts off pulling especially when she's excited to walk with her dog friends but she usually loosens up after a few minutes. Birdie is currently in a foster home with other dogs and she does well with all the different temperaments - old/grumpy to young/super playful. Her foster home is a farm with lots of animals. She sometimes barks when she's not close enough to sniff but has not shown any prey drive towards the animals. Shes sniffed foster kittens and while pretty interested - more curious than hungry around them. She would likely be friends with a cat but might chase if it ran off.
