My Story

Meet one of our resident southern sweethearts, Bob! Bob is officially moving out of the pyrenees teenager phase which makes him a great option for a family looking for a mature, yet youthful, new addition. Described by his foster mom as very sweet and good on a leash, Bob has been spending some time in boarding where he's been introduced to lots of other dogs and even cats, who he regards with mild curiosity and respect. Bob has beautiful deep brown eyes, an extremely boopable nose, and a forehead just waiting to be planted full of kisses; add that to his fluffy white coat and you've got all the makings for a pyr-shaped best friend! His next steps in rescue could include either a loving foster home to relax in while he waits, or even better-- a forever home! Since he loves all the dogs he's met, Bob would likely appreciate a forever home that includes a canine sibling to play with, a pyr-ent or two who will take him on walks and adventures, and plenty of time for cuddling and snoozing together on the couch. If the holiday season makes you as nostalgic for the Coca-Cola polar bear as it does us at NGPR, Bob may be just the ticket to having a fluff ball of your own to keep you warm this winter! - Written by K.P. NYS Registered Rescue # RR102 NGPR dogs are in foster homes at the location specified on their full listing. View the full listing (with location, fee and application link) at HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTABLE-DOGS Completion of an application is required to be considered for any dog. Please fill out the application on our website and we will contact you. HTTPS://NATIONALPYR.ORG/ADOPTION-APPLICATION/ Due to the high level of interest we can't respond to emails unless an application has been submitted. Our goal is to assess every application on its own merits. Key considerations are: 1) the experience of the applicant with large breed dogs 2) children in the household or regularly visiting the household are ready for a large-breed dog who is a guardian by nature (www.nationalpyr.org/know-the-breed) and 3) the sex of other dogs currently residing in the household to avoid same-sex aggression issues. For puppies under six months old, the applicant’s ability to socialize the puppy with older dogs is a priority. Secure VISIBLE fencing is required; invisible fencing WILL NOT contain this breed.
