BODHI www.youluckydogrescue.org - Adoption Application can be found at this website. *Special Circumstances* Approx 4 y/o 18 lbs Bhodi is a standard dachshund. He was picked up as a stray by Animal Control and the poor boy was in rough shape when he came into You Lucky Dog Rescue. Bhodi was severely underweight, suffered from major hair loss, crusty skin and eyes filled with discharge - but all that's changed now! Bhodi has since been diagnosed with an auto immune disorder, Pemphigus Foliaceous (PF), that is currently managed by medication. Bhodi will need to remain on medication for life but it is assumed he will live a long, normal life outside of the PF diagnosis. Bhodi loves to play fetch and destroy squeaky toys and is not so good at sharing his toys. Bhodi loves going for walks and is a gentleman on a leash. He likes socializing and getting to know new people and loves all of the attention. He is ok with other nice dogs, does well with the 4 yo and 12 yo and currently lives with cats. PRIVATE MEET & GREETS: Submitting an adoption application is required before a private meet & greet will be scheduled. We will complete a pre-screening first to make sure that the dog you are interested in is a good fit for you. That way, we don't unnecessarily waste your time or the foster's time. Our adoption fee is $300 and includes all age appropriate vaccines, spay or neuter and microchipping. All of our rescue dogs are heart worm tested annually beginning at 9 months of age, and they are kept on monthly heart worm and flea preventatives. The breed and age included in this listing is based upon the opinion of a vet that has examined the dog. We cannot confirm the age of the dog unless the dog was born in the care of the rescue. We are located in the metro Atlanta area. We currently do not allow out of state adoptions as a home check is required as part of the adoption process.
