Bogey, AKA Balto, was born here at the shelter on 2/11/24. He is currently in a kennel with his sister, who is black and white. Her name is Blaire. He is on the right in the photos that show both dogs. These pups were born along with several others to a 40 lb. Husky mixed-breed mom dog who has since been adopted. Their mom dog was beautiful, smart, quiet and got along well with other dogs. The father dog is thought to possibly be a Lab and/or Mastiff mix. These pups grew to be medium to large in size. Bogey/Balto has a wonderful, friendly temperament just like his mom and sister, and gets along with all people and other dogs. Husky mix dogs are smart and active and have minds of their own though. So they need a good amount of mental and physical activity. But then again, most young dogs under age 1 need a lot of stimulus, exercise and play. Both dogs are well behaved and sit or stand quietly wagging their tails when strangers come through, Even though the rest of the shelter dogs in all the rows near them might be barking their heads off, Blaire and Bogey do not get overly excited or make a peep. Both dogs are neutered/spayed, vaccinated, heartworm tested and microchipped. They do not have to be adopted together but do enjoy each other's company. These photos were taken 9/7/24 when the dogs were 7 months old.
Bogey/Balto was given the original name of Balto. He got adopted 4/16/24 and the people renamed him Bogey. Then they returned him to the shelter 6/21/24 saying he was too active for them. So he's had some house-training and socialization but needs a more active adopter. He has been neutered, vaccinated, hw tested and microchipped. Call (434) 374-8076 or email [email protected].
