Meet Boone! He loves to be your favorite couch potato, and explore the outdoors. He's a chill guy that enjoys being around you and expressing his vocal chords when he gets excited, or wants to eat!! His calm demeanor means he can live peacefully with cats. Boone would be fine as an only dog, or living with calm dog(s) who are not looking to play or chase. Boone's current foster home has another large dog and a small dog both whom he gets along fine with and is content to wander the yard, or share a couch with them. He is housetrained and nondestructive, so he free roams the home! Boone also knows sit, down and shake.
As much as Boone likes to relax and chill, he also loves going for walks and has very good leash manners. He also loves playing with stuffed toys, and will often greet you with one to encourage a game of fetch. His other "hobbies include hiding under blankets to nap, working for treats, rolling in the grass, and asking for ear scratches
Boone is 115lbs of good boy! He will need someone to look after his diet and exercise program to get him on the road to a healthy weight. He was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism. With daily medication, he will be able maintain a healthy lifestyle and start to lose some of those lbs! He sure has the spunk for it!
We do not know his exact breed, but best guess is Hound/Rottie mix-and he leans more into the HOUND part most days. Boone does come with a "big boy bark. It's quite on the "hound side and he can be vocal. He likes to announce visitors, tell you he needs to potty, tell you he wants to eat, and will bark if you've missed his "walk time, and thus we suggest a home without shared walls with a neighbor.
Boone can be a little aloof/unsure at first, but he has really warmed to his foster family and is such a sweet boy. He now snuggles on the couch, initiates playtime and loves ear and butt scratches. He's a happy boy with a silly personality.
He knows the commands sit, shake, and down, and takes to training well, and will do just about anything for a treat.
