My Story

Beckett came to CVHS after the other dog in the home attacked him over a disagreement about a toy. His owners felt it would be safest and most comfortable for everyone if Beckett finds a new home where he can be the only dog. Beckett loves people and is very attached to anyone he considers "his" family. He will initially bark at strangers, but once he gets to say hi he is happy to make friends. Since coming to CVHS, Beckett was a little shy at first but has come out of his shell with some patience. This sweet boy has shown staff he is super playful outside and very loving. He has lots of energy, and would make a great hiking or walking companion. He is looking for someone who will never tire of playing with his toys with him, and if you have a fenced-in yard, he will happily hang out there with you, enjoying all the toys you can provide him! He did live with a small child, but seemed to find it stressful and would prefer an adult-only home. He has lived with cats and did well. Beckett is friendly with most dogs, but he loves his toys as life itself, and doesn't want other dogs sharing his toys, so it's best he be the only dog in the household. Beckett is crate trained and house trained. A 5-week Good Manners training course is included in Beckett's $350.00 adoption fee. Please call the Adoption Center at 802-476-3811, or email [email protected], to schedule a time to talk to an adoption counselor about him, and to determine if you should meet Beckett.
