My Story
Meet Branch!!
My rescue journey started all alone when I was found in the dark underneath a house. Although I know I’m safe now, at some point my story was a bit painful. The scar on my head will be a reminder that I have been through some ruff stuff (pun intended).
More about me …
* I’m a moose!! I’m going to be a big guy. My paws are huge and my rescue thinks I may be mixed with Great. Dane.
* Age – estimated birthday is March 25th, 2024 (~ 5 mths)
* Weight – ~ 50lb
* I can be a bit shy, likely due to my scary beginning I am more on the reserved side.
* It may take me a while to warm up to you but once I know I can trust you, I’m glued to your side.
* Loud noises and new experiences can be a bit scary for me, so I need a human who will continue to expose me to the world so I can continue to get brave and enjoy all that life has to offer.
* I’m dog, kid and cat friendly. I’m currently fostered with 2 middle school aged children, 2 female dogs and 2 cats. I’m not aggressive with cats at all but I am learning how best to interact with them.
* I DEFINITELY would do best with another dog in the home who I can lean on for confidence
* I’m learning commands like sit, wait, down and leave it. I am doing rather well for my age.
* I love squeaky toys, bull sticks, nylabones and kongs
* I think I am a lap dog despite my size. Once I trust you, I’ll snuggle you endlessly
* I’m very treat motivated while indoors
* I’m doing well with crate training. I eat and sleep in my crate without an issue
* I’m still working on house training but I do pretty well when I have a consistent schedule.
