Buddy

Buddy came to Metropolitan Maltese Rescue shaved to the skin, due to having arrived to a local shelter with horribly matted hair. Now that his hair is growing out, we see his hair is curly, and think he is a Bichon Frise rather than a Maltese, and we just LOVE him! (Exact breed type is a guess, however.) Buddy, who is the cutest dog in the world, is estimated to be around 3 years old and is 13-ish pounds and could stand to gain a little, seems to have had a challenging life before rescue, but those days are behind him, and we are seeing to his bright future. Buddy acts like he has been tied-up or crated his whole life, and is a little shy due to that isolation, but is always gentle and sweet, and seems to want to befriend every person and dog he meets. Buddy will do fine in an apartment or in a house, and would be best in an active family where he can get plenty of exercise and fun, though he also is a champion cuddler. Buddy is great on a leash, and unaffected by city activity and noises. Buddy is working on his housebreaking skills, so an adopter should know they'll have to continue that training. And while Buddy is fine with other dogs, he is best suited to be the only dog in his adoptive home. He does require a family who is strong on dog-owning experience.
