Buddy

Hi, My name is Buddy, Buds, Bud-ster. I'm a friendly cute little ten-pound adult male Chihuahua. I do my best in a calm adult environment with a fenced backyard. I'm not sure what a walk on a leash is but I love to run very fast around the dog park, and if I get the chance, I'll run around the neighborhood too. I was very much a beloved pet until my owner died. The family member that moved in didn't want me, bought a pit bull puppy, and put me out on an open porch to fend for myself until a neighbor took me in. I don't ever mark in the house, I'm crate and potty trained, but not always sure how to let you know I need to go out. I enjoy being a good boy by going out to potty every few hours, as long as, you go out with me, because I'm scared of being locked out. I love to chase and bark at squirrels which makes my foster mom laugh. I'm not relaxed being picked up and held, but I do love sitting next to you getting scratches and belly rubs while giving kisses. I wag my tail a lot, especially when someone says I'm a good boy. I happily go into my soft bed in my crate at night or if you leave the house. Our adoption process is usually quick but may take up to two weeks. When you find an animal you are interested in, we ask that you fill out an application on our website, PawsUp4Rescue.org/adopting as a first step so we can determine if your family is a good fit for the animal. If you are, then we will contact you to arrange a time for you and your family to meet the animal so you can decide if it is a good fit. If you currently have dogs, we require them to be present at the meeting to ensure it's a good fit all around. Once compatibility is determined, we move on to the paperwork and finalize the adoption. If the meet is not a good fit, we will keep your application on file for 6 months and will gladly consider your family for another dog.
