My Story

Ciao, I'm Caramella! I'm a year old, Mountain Cur girl, weighing only 22 pounds. Rescue One broke me out of animal control just in time to save my precious life. They said I was as sweet as candy, so they named me Caramella (the Italian word for candy). I'm a young pup so I'm still learning potty training, but with lots of those sugary treats I'll be an expert in no time! I'm showing significant improvement on staying calm in my kennel and leash skills. Sometimes I pull a little on my leash, but that's just because I get a little excited. I'm a puppy at heart so I'm looking for a furever home that can handle my high energy, but also has a comfy lap to rest my head on. Going on daily works or attending doggy day care would help contain my energy. I'm flexible on my living arrangements as I could live in a house or an apartment. I would be okay as an only dog or another to play with. I haven't met any cats or children yet, but with proper introductions I have no doubt I'll like them too! If you're ready to meet the sweetest Italian girl, put in an application today!! My adoption fee is $150 and includes my spay/neuter, vaccinations, wellness exam, heartworm test, and microchip! **Petfinder inquiries are NOT official applications! If you're interested in meeting/adopting me, please visit www.rescueonespringfield.com/our-adoption-process/adoption-application/ and fill out the form! We do adopt out of state with vet references and video home check. *Adopter is responsible for coming to get the dog and returning the dog if the adoption does not work out* Don't forget to LIKE us on Facebook!-www.facebook.com/rescueonespringfield *Remember, dogs are pack animals. Because of this, Rescue One does not adopt to outdoor-only homes. Pets are family and are not disposable. Please make sure that you are 100% committed to a pet before considering adding one to your home. We are a foster-based organization, and we need more fosters to help us save more animals! If you’re interested in saving lives just like the one you’re reading about, fill out a foster app here.
