We are a volunteer run rescue and donate our time to these dogs. IF you are not serious about moving forward in our adoption process, please do not apply. If someone other than yourself is part of the decision making process, please make sure you have spoken with them and they are on board. Carla, 1.5 year old, spayed female, American Staffordshire Bull Terrier, 46 pounds. Carla is in a foster home in San Antonio, TEXAS and can transport out of state once an approved adopter is lined up!
Meet Carla, a one-year-old bundle of energy and love, ready to bring joy and adventure to your life! Carla is a playful pup who thrives on activity and affection, making her the perfect fit for an active family that enjoys outdoor fun, games of fetch, and lots of cuddles.
Carla's play style with other dogs is a bit on the rough-and-rowdy side. She brings tons of energy to every interaction, playing like an enthusiastic puppy with both boys and girls. Luna has played well with dogs ranging from a 38-pound Boxer to a 72-pound Pitbull, always ready for a game of chase or a friendly wrestle. While she does pick up on cues when another dog wants to stop, she sometimes gets caught up in the fun and needs a little extra time to wind down. When she sees other dogs on leash, Carla is excited to say hello.
Carla has been around kids of all ages, from toddlers to teenagers (ages 2-17). She’s playful and energetic, but sometimes her enthusiasm gets the best of her, and she may accidentally knock over smaller kids, like a toddler, during outdoor play. However, she’s gentle and doesn’t mean any harm. With a little work on chilling out, Carla can thrive in a household with children of any age.
On leash, Carla can be a bit of a puller at first, but she does settle down after a bit of walking. She’s fully housebroken and does well in her crate, where she comfortably sleeps from 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. She’s used to being crated when her family is away and shows no issues with it.
Carla doesn’t have any food aggression issues and is perfectly content being fed in her crate. She loves her toys, especially ropes and squeaky toys, and her absolute favorite is a marrow bone! Carla is also very affectionate and loves nothing more than cuddling with her humans when playtime is over.
Carla is a smart, curious, and endlessly playful dog. She has a happy, silly personality and loves to meet new people. Though she may be a bit shy at first, she quickly warms up and won’t hesitate to jump up for attention. Carla is great in the car, navigates stairs without a problem, and has a sweet habit of sitting right next to you on the bench outside for a quiet moment.
Carla would do best in a home where she can be active and engaged. Whether it’s chasing kids around the yard or going on long walks, Carla thrives in an environment that matches her energy level. She doesn’t necessarily need another dog to keep her company, as long as she’s getting plenty of exercise and attention from her human family. If you’re looking for a playful, affectionate, and smart dog with tons of personality, Carla could be the perfect addition to your home!
