My Story

Champ is a 5-6 y/o Bichon/Pug/Terrier mix who weighs 20 lbs. He and another dog were surrendered to a shelter when their owner passed away and there was no family able to take them. Champ is friendly, affectionate, & a snuggler. He has a sweet temperament, is great with other dogs & loves people. He is housetrained when kept on a routine & walks well on a leash. Champ’s favorite things are car rides (LOVES car rides), & looking out the window both at home & when riding in the car. IDEAL HOME: Champ is used to having another dog in the household but could be content as an only dog as a companion to his family as long as he is not left alone for long periods. He is great at snuggling after a long day! Champ’s current foster mom works from home and he is very cooperative. He is not excessively needy nor disruptive. He is very mellow, spending a lot of time looking out the window. He will bark if people approach or walk past the house but he is easily redirected. Sometimes he does bark intitially when left alone, so it would be ideal if there were no shared walls. Champ is potty trained but may need a belly band ( we’ll send one) for a short time until he is acclimated to his new home. He is very good about going potty when taken out on a short walk on a leash. He sleeps through the night on his foster mom’s bed. He grabs/tosses toys in the air when excited and has recently started initiating playtime with other small/medium dogs in the household. He should be brushed regularly and occasionally groomed as needed to maintain a healthy coat. Champ is neutered, and is current on distemper, rabies and bordetella vaccinations. His heartworm test and tick profile (4DX) were all negative. His microchip is registered to Second Chance. Champ has a $395 adoption fee. Call 651-771-5662 if you are interested in meeting him.
