My Story

Chevy is a sweet 5-year old male Hound mix who was surrendered by his family on July 27, 2024. Chevy has a brown short smooth coat, a long tail, and an adorable face with a light tan mask, hopeful trusting eyes, a black button nose on his slender muzzle, and short semi-erect ears ? ? This handsome guy has a lovable, playful personality. Chevy had lived with (or had been around) other dogs, cats, birds, and rabbits, and he did well with them. There was a new baby in his home who was at an age where he/she would soon begin to learn to walk, so the decision was made that it was best for Chevy to find another home. Chevy was the perfect gentleman when HSOV Kennel Tech Emily Beaver spent time with him for outdoor photos on July 31, 2024, and he loved attention from Emily. Chevy was understandably 'out of his element' and somewhat frightened in a shelter environment since he had been accustomed to being an indoor dog with his family. Chevy weighs 45 lbs and walks gently on a leash Chevy has already been neutered, so he could leave our shelter with his new family very quickly with an approved HSOV adoption application. Chevy would love to find someone special that he could share a nice couch with and/or snuggle up next to. Chevy is a wanna-be lap dog. These updated photos of Chevy were taken on August 2, 2024 when Chevy was enjoying his very own ‘bachelor pad’ (actually a closet near the shelter lobby). Chevy is currently in a kennel and would love to once again be back in a home environment with someone special to love him again.
