Chloe Girl (Pre-Adoption)

Available for pre-adoption only, Chloe is recovering from hospitalization after ingesting a foreign object on 2/12/25. She will be available for adoption once she has recovered. Meet Chloe Girl, a 14 month old Great Dane (who weighs approximately 105-110 lbs). Chloe came to us through one of our animal hospitals that we work closely with after she ingested a foreign object (towel, blanket, or some kind of cloth) and her owner was not able to care for her. Chloe was able to pass the object and was hospitalized to be monitored. She appears to have cleared everything, and is now in rescue care while she is recovering before she officially goes up for adoption. Chloe is currently held away from other dogs while she recovers, but will be introduced to new potential friends once she feels up for it. Chloe is shy with new people and can be nervous with strangers, but warms up quickly once she gets to know someone new. She can be head shy. Once she is comfortable with you, Chloe is very affectionate and loves to play! Chloe would probably do best in a home with older children, she is warming up to our resident 8 year old and doing well with him. In her large stature, we are pretty certain that she would accidentally knock down tiny humans. She corrects quickly and is learning her way around our regular routine. Chloe has already figured out the dog door in our indoor/outdoor runs and will let herself out to potty. She has had a few accidents, however she is not feeling herself right now. She is learning how to walk on leash without pulling and rides well free-riding in the car. She is a very typical Great Dane, and she does not know her size. She will definitely try to climb up into someone's lap (and hearts) given the chance. If you are looking for an XL girl to grace your home, consider meeting Chloe Girl! ***Chloe did have a Gastropexy when she was spayed (her stomach was tacked to help prevent potential bloat). ***You may notice that Chloe Girl's adoption fee is higher than most of our other dogs.
