My Story

Chops was abandoned by his owner. Thankfully, some kind people in the community who knew him came forward to give us his name. Chops isn’t thinking about yesterday. He’s living in the moment, as most dogs do. That doesn’t mean that he’s unaffected by what he’s been through: It just means that he’s soaking up every bit of love today has to offer and he’ll be doing that every day. This doggy is described as a 'Busy Bee'. I’m a naturally playful, curious, and trusting canine. Take me for a big walk every day; give me something to do. After my job’s done, I’ll curl up in front of the fire with you in the evenings. (Externally motivated) It is recommended that whenever you add a new animal to your household, it is done with a slow and monitored introduction. For more information on this animal contact [email protected] or call 319-653-6713. Please copy and paste our adoption page URL for an application to adopt this animal. https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/adopt If you are able to foster this doggie temporarily (you decide the length of time!) please complete our short questionnaire at pawsandmorewashington.org/foster If you cannot currently adopt, donations are welcome and needed including financial help to sponsor this specific animal. To donate via Paypal, copy and paste our home page URL at https://www.pawsandmorewashington.org/ or mail donations to PAWS and More, 1004 1/2 West Madison, Washington, IA 52353. We recommend crate training until you’re confident that your dog is used to his/her new home: http://www.aspca.org/pet-care/virtual-pet-behaviorist/dog-behavior/weekend-crate-training All our dogs have been spayed or neutered or arrangements will be made if currently too young. They will be treated for fleas, bathed, vaccinated against distemper/parvo, treated against general parasites, and if of age, tested for heart worms and vaccinated against rabies. If underage for these things at the time of adoption, they are to be done at the adopter’s cost when the dog becomes of age. They will be microchipped at the time of adoption.
