Meet Chowder Male Estimated DOB: 8/22/2024 Meet Chowder, a charming pup born around August 22, 2024, who’s already winning hearts with his sweet nature and observant personality—earning him the nickname “Sherlock.” This clever boy is well on track with house training and excels in crate training, settling in comfortably from 9:30 PM to 6:30 AM and again from 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM, with just one bathroom break around noon. Chowder has a moderate energy level that makes him the perfect blend of playful and mellow. He gets along wonderfully with other dogs and kids, and he’s a pro on a leash with his collar and harness. While he loves making new friends, he does have a quirk when it comes to cats—he barks at them relentlessly, though he hasn’t yet engaged with them. Though Chowder does bark when in his kennel—whether alerting his foster family to bathroom breaks or when other animals pass by—he’s working on calming down his unnecessary barking, especially when he’s excitedly trying to invite other dogs to play. His favorite toys include rope, squeaky toys, and Kong toys, and he adores cuddling on the couch when he’s tired, giving lots and lots of kisses. One thing Chowder isn’t a fan of is cold weather—though a good dog coat can certainly help him brave the chill!
