My Story

- Calm, easygoing lady who loves her toys and likes to play for a while, but mostly enjoys relaxing on a chair or couch and being wherever the family is - Was a polite houseguest in her foster home and did well staying home alone; would greet her foster family at the door with a wagging tail when they came back - Loves going on walks and does best with a harness; has also done great in the car and just sits back and watches the world go by - Will guard your yard against invading squirrels - Super into treats and will eat just about anything you put in front of her, but her foster family said she was also polite around food in their home and was not a beggar - Had great potty habits in her foster home and only had one accident on the very first day and then was perfect after that and would wait by the door to go out; just remember that any dog may need time to get used to a new routine - Foster family said she was chill and quiet the vast majority of the time but every once in a while when something big was going on outside, she'd run around the house with her tough bark; once that was over, though, she'd be back to relaxing - May bark when she first meets new people, but she warms up quickly - Has done great with kids, including infants and toddlers, both in her foster home and in the shelter; wags her tail and loves giving them kisses - Not a big fan of other dogs and while she may do OK with select like-minded dog friends, she may prefer to be the only dog in her new home (dog intro required) - Needs a home with no cats - May have allergies (more info at ARL) All adoptable dogs and puppies are spayed/neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccinations (rabies and DA2PPV as appropriate for their age) The ARL's shelter software requires that we choose a primary breed for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable, so for most dogs we are only guessing at primary breed. We get to know each dog as an individual and do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not breed label.
