My Story

Clementine is a cutie who can catch a treat in the air 9 times out of 10, loves all doggie toys, and has couch potato presence with bouncy-pup moments. If she could describe what she is looking for in forever, it would be apartner-in-chill. This girl stole all our hearts with her gentle presence, and perfect-pittie smile. We hope she reaches yours too! Get to know her best by watching her Get-To-Know- Clementine video here- https://youtu.be/pKGGbd28Wdo In rescue, age and breed are details we can never know with 100% confidence, but we believe Clementine is a Pittie mix, approximately 7 years old, and weighing 45 lbs, she is basically a pocket size snack. Clementine is so fortunate to be fostered in a loving home with four other dogs and a foster host who has shared nothing but praise for her. Clementine is both house and crate trained, with a true skill for couch potato life. Between the age and calling her a bit of a couch potato, dont be misled, she has a sporty side. A treat or a ball- she can catch it in the air! Fetch? Yep, she plays it! Backyard play sessions with her doggie pals? She does that too! She is pretty perfect company by all standards if you ask me. Clementines foster family will sing her praises when you ask, sharing about how well behaved she is, that she is both house and crate trained, and has never once chewed on something that wasnt meant for her. This is the thing about the mature pups, there is not a single bit of puppy-problems in sight. Its pretty easy sailing, no need for 6 mile hikes or cleaning up potty messes, instead your enjoying leisure paced walks in the neighborhood and quiet coffee company on the porch. Clementine lives with other dogs and we know she is dog-friendly, but she definitely has a preference for low-energy companion types. She is confident and very people focused so being an only dog would be A-Ok with her. When introduced to new dogs she was calm for an on-leash greeting and comfortable in their company On-leash, Clementine is a great walking companion. She keeps a steady pace and is not distracted by passing dogs. With her calm, easy-going leash manners, you will be able to put your favorite playlist on and take a walk in peace- you and her good company. Clementines calm and low-energy paired with her quiet nature makes her a versatile fit for a variety of living spaces. She loves having access to sun-bathe and explore the yard but doesn't need much space. A condo or tiny-house living would be as great as a house with a yard. Clementine gets a little chatty when she first goes in her crate, it isn't excessive but it is just enough that she is not a great fit for apartment life at this time. She is working on it but who are we to keep her from expressing herself. She would do well with a calm home life, with a family who understands her calm nature and isnt looking for a long-haul running partner or all-day playmate for a young pup. Walks, hikes, road-trips are all a yes with after-adventure naps guaranteed! Clementine is the kind of dog who reminds you to slow down and enjoy the simple pleasures in life. With her calm nature, soulful eyes, and that pittie-smile, she is sure to bring a calm, warm presence to her new family. Whether napping on a cozy bed, strolling through the neighborhood, or lounging around, Clementine is ready to fill your home with quiet love and companionship. We have over 15,000 successful adoptions so far and have excellent Google Reviews: https://g.co/kgs/UQ5Pyai We care deeply about making the perfect match between dog and family for long term success. Our rescue has a 2 acre property in Texas where we assess every animal with trainers on staff, we modify behavior as needed, and create individualized behavior plans to help prepare dogs for their future families including crate training, potty training, leash walking, etc. Our fosters are able to attend group trainings and socialization play groups to keep dogs adoption-ready. Our on-site trainers support the positive growth of our dogs and we enjoy seeing their progress! Our commitment to comprehensive medical care sets us apart. We've received glowing feedback from veterinarians who commend our dedication to ensuring the health and well-being of every animal in our care with treatments that often go above and beyond. Our adoption fees reflect the extensive care and resources that go into each animal we save. The adoption fee is a donation to the mission and goes far beyond getting a fully vetted pet. The rescues hard costs alone (excluding transport) for a healthy dog to go through our program typically range between $412 to $859, which includes boarding, food, medications, vaccines, and spay/neuter. For heartworm-positive dogs, hard costs are upwards of $1,368. Additionally, dogs requiring extended boarding, extra training, or extra medical caresuch as dental work, vision care, or orthopedic carecan lead to expenses running into the thousands. Also, included in the adoption fee are costs to cover transport up to the Pacific Northwest or East Coast. Transport is a significant additional expense to the rescue. While adoption fees help cover part of these expenses, we want to emphasize that the rescue does not receive government funding and must fundraise to offset the remaining expense balance which ranges $100-1,000++ per animal on these direct costs. It doesnt stop there!
