My Story

Meet Cody! Cody is a handsome Golden Retriever on a journey to find his forever home—and we’re looking for someone very special who can help him thrive. After being surrendered by his adopter, Cody made his way back to Tattered Paws, where he's been given a fresh start. Unfortunately, Cody did not have the proper structure needed in his first home. Due to this, he now has a bite history. Good news— Cody has been to a board and train facility, and remains with his dedicated foster who continues to work with a trainer to support Cody. This boy is smart, eager to learn, and loves staying active! While Cody has made progress, he still needs an adopter who is committed to providing structure, leadership, and ongoing training. With the right guidance and dedication, he is now ready to live his best life. Due to his bite history, Cody has a list of "must haves" for an adopter to be considered. Please only apply if you meet the conditions below: - MUST live in Washington State - Will need to have a trainer and be committed to ongoing training with Cody - Homes with children WILL NOT be considered - MUST have an active lifestyle and be able to provide at least 1.5 hours of daily activity and fulfillment - No other dogs in the home, unless highly qualified adopter for behavioral needs dogs. **Please note- Adopter must agree to Tattered Paws adoption contract requiring that if any adoption does not work out for any reason, or if it in the best interest of the dog, that Cody be returned to the care of the rescue and the adopter will not euthanize for any reason without contacting the rescue.***
