Convoy

Hi, my name is Convoy, and let me just say, I probably should've stayed home the afternoon of September 20, 2024. It was around 4:00 PM when I made the not-so-smart decision to cross South Loop Road-right in front of an 18-wheeler. Now, if you've ever been told that big trucks can't stop quickly, let me tell you, it's 100% true. Before I knew it, I was hit. I ended up with a small cut near my right eye-no big deal-but my front right leg was broken in two places, just dangling there. I was alive but in a lot of pain, lying on the side of the road while the truck drove off into the distance without even tapping the brakes. Luckily, the driver behind the truck saw everything, stopped, and scooped me up. He rushed me to the animal shelter, where the staff were just about to leave for the day. Without hesitation, they loaded me into another vehicle and got me to the hospital for emergency surgery. I spent 61 days there mending my leg, with pins placed to stabilize my bones. Thanks to their care, I'm back at the shelter and ready to find my forever home! I'm a Terrier Mix with a gorgeous brown brindle coat, white accents, and a black nose. I weigh just 36 pounds, so I'm the perfect size for cuddles and adventures. I do have a small limp now, and there's a knot on my leg that will always be with me, but none of that slows me down. I can still run, jump, and play like a champ! Being in a hospital cage for so long made me really appreciate company, and now I absolutely love being around humans and other dogs.
